I was born in Slovenia, in Novo Mesto, and spent the majority of my life in the United States, where I finished my BFA with a specialization in drawing at Arizona State University. I moved to Ljubljana in 2018 and started my master's studies at ALUO, where I am completing my thesis defense. The focus of my practice has been drawing with an increasingly expansive definition of the medium so that it includes painting, weaving, sculpture, pottery, writing and book-making. My current work deals with the problem of choice and choosing. 

The title of the exhibition is Sun, Tree, Wheel, the elements which I chose to work with for this series of paintings and drawings. The sun has a center from which rays branch out, and a wheel has the same shape, just enclosed in a circular border. The tree, seen from above, has the same shape as the sun as well, branching from the central trunk. All of them are different expressions of a simpler idea, one of something branching from a center, reaching out blindly, expanding. I chose these forms because they are deeply significant, but also because they are as good of a choice as any other.
