Celica rocks, dances, moves, and grooves at the hottest concert events in town – for the third year in a row! Once again, we will spend Summer Thursdays in our majestic Summer Garden in the company of some even more majestic bands! With the Croatian psych funk band nemanja, we will say goodbye to August with a glorious dance party, right here at our Summer Garden!

nemanja is a global psych band bringing together members from Pula and Zagreb, inspired by 70's Afro-Columbian, Anatolian, Thai, and world music, led by Luka Šipetić with the albums "Tarot Funk," "Cosmic Disco," and "Voodoo Beat."

The members of the live band are Matej Perić (drums), Karlo Lugarić (percussion), Laura Matijašević (bass), Ana Kovačić (saxophone, synth), and Luka Šipetić (guitar). The band is currently promoting their third album, Voodoo Beat, which offers a danceable and exciting musical melting pot with hot Afro-Columbian rhythms, Caribbean dub sounds, and tropical exotica. It is inspired by the ancient myth of Orpheus and Eurydice and also draws inspiration from films such as "Orpheus" (Jean Cocteau, 1950) and "Black Orpheus" (Marcel Camus, 1959). Besides interesting musical influences, the albums stand out with a narrative concept that extends through all three albums. "Tarot Funk" depicts the last moments before nemanja's death through tarot cards and Anatolian sound; "Cosmic Disco" follows nemanja's journey through the bardo, guided by the Tibetan Book of the Dead and world disco sound; and "Voodoo Beat" concludes the "Esoteric Trilogy" in which nemanja tries to return from the land of the dead with the help of the voodoo power of love and Afro-Columbian sound.

The band has been active live since June 2019, and despite the pandemic, they have performed across the region, including at the prestigious ESNS festival and showcase festivals such as the MENT festival. Renowned music publications and critics across the region unanimously placed "Tarot Funk" and "Cosmic Disco" at the top of the best albums lists of the region for 2019 and 2020, and they often appeared on the lists of music portals from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom.
