Celica rocks, dances, moves and grooves at the hottest concert events in town – for the fifth year in a row! For our fifth birthday, we’ll be hosting an unforgettable concert party in July and August 2026, featuring a top line-up of local and international bands!
Our music season will open with the alternative guitar band Svojat, joined by the unique singer-songwriter Samuel Blues.
The Ljubljana trio Svojat is perhaps the most penetrating and original voice of Slovenian alternative guitar music. The band is made up of Andrej Fon (guitar, saxophone, vocals), Ivo Poderžaj (bass, vocals) and Vid Drašler (drums), three musicians with rich repertoires that date back to the nineties and bands such as Strahuljarji, Žoambo Žoet Workstrao, Zmajev rep, TiTiTi, Oholo!, Borghesia, Olfamoštvo and others.
Their music moves in a tension between noise rock, no-wave, desert blues and free improvisation. Poderžaj's bass guitar blurs the boundaries between rhythmic and solo roles, Drašler’s drumming combines precision with jazz poetics, and Fon’s vocal interpretation brings a raw expressiveness to the trio’s sound that communicates beyond language barriers.
The band’s sovereign musical vision has twice been recognised by the most prestigious Slovenian music award: in their respective years of release, the self-titled debut album Svojat (2020) and the second album Ošili me modro (2024) each received the award for the best Slovenian album of the year on Radio Študent.
In 2026, Svojat is opening a new, even louder critical chapter. With the release of the single and video Fuga za narod (March 2026, Ente Tapes), they offer both a preview of material from their upcoming album and an overture to the concert-performance of the same name produced by Via Negativa. On the 150th anniversary of the birth of Slovenian writer Ivan Cankar and the 35th anniversary of Slovenian independence, they highlight the figure of the folk musician "kurent" and directly confront the frustrations of modern times, ideological indoctrination and collective amnesia. Svojat remain uncompromising witnesses to the post-historical machine of the 21st century.
Samuel Blues says he doesn’t have a description of himself, but he does have fifteen albums in his discography. The loudest Slovenian singer-songwriter feels at home in blues/rock waters, but he feels fine in Bled too. Since he already knows everything that’s happening down below the Sava River, he said he’d come and check out what’s going on in Celica. The king of alcohol has released four albums since his last visit to Celica, and we’re sure he'll create the loudest party in town once again.
See you at our favorite hostel – as always, entry is free!
