Alexander (Sašo) Niskač (born in 1977 in former Czechoslovakia) is a freelance cultural worker who has been living and creating in Ljubljana since 2007. He studied, worked, and began his engagement with film in Copenhagen, Denmark. After spending a year in Macedonia and a few months in Sarajevo, he moved to Ljubljana fifteen years ago.
He organizes cultural events, festivals of short and documentary films, and is also an amateur photographer, cultural producer, independent video artist, and filmmaker. He actively works across Europe and in international settings.
For several years, he has been systematically capturing details of Ljubljana through his lens. The light is most beautiful early in the morning and toward evening, and he has developed a keen eye for intriguing and lesser-known locations—those we often overlook in the rush of everyday city life.
This exhibition was created mostly in Slovakia, as part of the photography series Somewhere in Europe – FOTOKARAVAN.
