Cell 107 is one of the most popular cells in the entire hostel. Russian painter and set designer Maxim Isaev covered the cell wall with blue acrylic and created a painting on it using the scratchboard technique. This allowed the wall to breathe. The crosses in the painting represent counting the days in prison. In most of the cells in the hostel, a small window has been added low on the wall, allowing a horizontal view. However, this window was omitted in Cell 107 due to the painting that stretches across half the room. Here, art takes precedence over practicality.
