In this cell, Aleksander S. Ostan experimented with a cross form and a dual division of the space. He achieved the horizontal demarcation by orienting the upper and lower bedsdiagonally in opposite directions. The cell is also divided vertically: the lower part is illuminated by a smaller added window, while the upper part receives abundant natural light through the larger original window. When constructing the oak furniture, the architect and the carpenter created an abstract pattern with inlays using various types Slovenian of wood in the central part of the cross on the lower side. The hole left by a knot in the wood has become a cabinet handle, adding a subtle, playful detail to the space.
